Privacy Policy

Job Agent (“we”, “us”) helps you find jobs, prepare tailored application documents and fill in employer application forms. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information.
Information you give us
- Account details — your name, email address and password (passwords are handled by our authentication provider and never stored in plain text).
- Resume and career profile — the resume you upload and the profile we extract from it (work history, education, skills, links).
- Job preferences — target roles, locations, salary range, schedule and automation settings.
- Application answers — contact details and answers you save for application questions, such as work authorization or salary expectations. Voluntary demographic answers (for example gender, race or veteran status) are optional; we only store them if you enter them, and only use them to fill forms you choose to submit.
- Outcomes — application statuses you record (applied, interview, rejected and so on).
Information we create or collect automatically
- Generated content — job match scores, tailored resumes, cover letters, draft answers and outreach messages created for you.
- Usage information — counts of actions (such as matches run or applications prepared) to apply daily limits, plus basic technical logs used to keep the service secure and working.
- Job listings — public job postings gathered from employer career sites and job-listing partners. These are not about you.
How we use your information
- To match you with relevant jobs and learn from your application outcomes.
- To write truthful, tailored resumes, cover letters and outreach drafts based only on your own information.
- To fill employer application forms when you ask us to. Applications are only submitted after you approve them.
- To send you service emails you can turn off, such as daily and weekly summaries.
- To operate, secure and improve the service, and to enforce our Terms.
When information is shared
- Employers you apply to — when you submit an application, the details and documents in that application go to that employer (and its hiring software).
- Service providers who process data for us under their own security commitments: Supabase (database, file storage and sign-in), OpenAI (AI processing to match jobs and write documents), Railway (hosting) and Resend (email delivery). OpenAI’s API terms state that data sent through the API is not used to train its models by default.
- Legal reasons — if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of users or the public.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Browser extension
The optional Job Agent Helper extension reads the form fields on a page only when you click Fill this page or Apply with extension, sends the field labels to Job Agent to look up your answers, and fills them in. It does not track your browsing, read other pages, or click Submit for you. It stores a connection code in your browser, which you can remove at any time from the Extension page.
How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete saved answers at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and associated data by emailing us. Some records may be kept for a limited time where required by law or for security backups.
Your choices and rights
- View and edit your profile, preferences and saved answers in the app.
- Turn off automation and summary emails on the Automation page.
- Request a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion by contacting us. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU/UK), you may have additional rights, which we will honor.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and per-user data separation. No online service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
Children
Job Agent is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. If we make significant changes we will notify you in the app or by email. The date at the top shows the latest version.
